Woohoo! Thanks to Jessica at Southtown Creative I now have a snazzy new blogsite and a new photography site. I love the promises a new year brings. Planning and dreaming big are among my favorite things to do, so I’m excited to already have the wheels in motion. There were also so many times when I wanted to write about something that happened, but I was like, ehhh my blog is has been so neglected it’s like watering a wilted flower. Now it has new life. I may not post every day like I did when I was really active on my blog, but I think it will be better this way with more meaningful posts. At least that’s what I hope! I’ve got a lot of big plans for the new year (don’t I always) like a 365 (366 for leap year) project and some big surprises, so stay tuned!
Oh wow! They’re giving away a MEGA giveaway at I Live to Click’s new blog launch that totals for $2100 in value of photography goodies!
I love the LBB patterns and what others have made with them. I used her Recycled T Shirt Sienna Dress Pattern to make Cady’s Baylor t shirt dress for homecoming. All the pattern proceeds from today will go towards sponsoring a child in Haiti through Three Angels Children Relief .
It’s meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I’m the Grosgrain Fabulous Silhouette Machine winner! I’m soooooooooo excited. If I hadn’t won any giveaways for this machine before Christmas, I was thinking about asking my hubby for one (if they had some good deals going on of course). Now I don’t have to. I really didn’t think I would win since it’s random and there are so many people trying, but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to at least try! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
There’s a giveaway for the Silhouette going on at The Shabby Nest! I’m going to enter every single one until Christmas. Then maaaaaaaaaaaybe I could just get it as my gift…
Oooo… the more I read about this machine, the more I want one… I didn’t even know about the temporary tattoos, lol.
I’ve had this computer since about 2002 or 2003 when I was in highschool, which means it’s quite old. 7 years in the life of a computer must be like 84 in people years. I remember we bought this because it was a good deal at the time, and I would need one to bring to school when I went to college. I didn’t have a need for a laptop at the time, so we got a desktop. I didn’t buy a laptop until a few days before I was leaving for France to study abroad. That laptop lasted about two years before it stopped turning on at all. Luckily I had saved most of my files on the external hard drive very recently before it’s demise and had a desktop that was willing to take me back.
Well now after being fixed professionally a couple of times, my computer is being slow again. There was only so much they could do with what I had. Compared to other computers, it’s probably slow all the time. I’ve gotten used to it, so I can’t tell anymore except recently it started doing this thing where it wants to be slow for a while after first being turned on. I’m also limited in how much I can be doing at a time and probaly what I can be doing. It’s really not that bad, which is why I’ve continued to just keep using it, but I’ve finally given in and decided to accept a new one.
It will be nice to have something with better performance, but I do feel a sense of loss. For some reason, I don’t want to make the change when it still works well most of the time (despite some frustrations). I’ll have to make sure it’s memory cleaned well before passing it on of course. I saw some programs that are supposed to do a thorough job. When all of that happens, I hope this computer will find a good home.
Tim says I always move at lightning speed even when there’s no rush, and he has to remind me to take it easy. I probably won’t be able to turn my racing thoughts off completely, but I’ll try to slow things down and do things more leisurely. I just always have so many ideas, so many things I want to do, and a strong need to feel “productive” that I move like I’m on a mission.
I thought after Cady’s birthday party that I would want to get started on my new projects right away, but I think I’d rather set those plans to side and rest a while. Tim is off for the next two weeks, and we should enjoy the time together just relaxing and spending time together as a family while we can. I’m not sure what that means since both Cady and I can’t just sit and do nothing, but I’m sure we can find some fun activities we’ll all enjoy.
