Life Lately…

At first I was having blogging withdrawals since my carpal tunnel issues, but I’m starting to get used to not posting and reading. Sorry I haven’t been a good bloggy friend and visiting your sites. The problems have slight improvements if I don’t spend time at my computer since I once spent a lot of time here and sat improperly. I’ve also realized that the way I sleep and do other activities is contributing to the problem. It’s been a major setback on all the things I wanted to accomplish this new year (like learn Photoshop, crochet, make more cakes), but today I’m feeling okay about that.

Quinn at Oyster Creek

We just did the usual types of activities, so nothing crazy happened while I wasn’t writing besides having a great time at the Barney Live, Birthday Bash Tour concert. We went to the library where a little girl kept bringing Tim toys and another little girl wanted to hug Cady with such enthusiasm that they both nearly fell over a few times had I not been cloes enough to catch them. I also went to an indoor play place where I met up with a couple of friends and their daughers. One of them kept thinking my legs were her mom’s and running up to hug them.

Sweet Shot Day

I’m planning on taking an online class for 12 weeks (with about a two week break halfway) at a local junior college, which I’ve read the syllabus for and find pretty interesting. I hope to start in February if we have the money, and if not, I’m sure we will by the time the March class starts. I really think I’ll learn a lot and enjoy it. I’ve also been reading some great books from the library and plan on starting the “assignments” in one book soon.

It’s funny because all throughout college, I was so certain of my major, and now I have no interest in the subject that I got my degree in and have totally different interests. Now I’m like, “why didn’t I study this in college?” Well I know why: because I wasn’t interested in the same things back then.

The “winter” is still bi-polar here. Yesterday it was 70 degrees, but they predict snow for the end of the week.

Tim's cake for Ian

My husband’s friend (who is his “big brother” from his fraternity but is actually younger than him) requested a cake, but he was the one who made it since my hands still need rest. I think he did a great job.

  1. I'm glad you're spending/enjoying your blog hiatus with your family. Cady is just too adorable especially in that HK shirt! What online class are you taking? I asked Dean a couple weeks ago if he'll let me take my master's degree even though we don't know when (if ever) it'll be put to use. Surprisingly, he said yes anyway! 🙂

  10. I found your blog while searching crafts or something and bookmarked it because I love your cute font. But also, like your posts! Anyway, I was reading about your carpal tunnel issues and wanted to give a suggestion that helped me. A few years ago – my wrist acted up and since I was on my computer non-stop for work and play, was in HUGE pain. I didn't want to go the doctor route because I have seen so many people with those wrist guards they have to wear for years. So I tried a chiropractor and they scheduled me for deep tissue massages through their office (ie: very well trained massage therapist). She treated me 1 time a week for 6 weeks and although it was painful getting the massages it worked amazingly well. She worked my shoulder down to my wrist and said my muscles were in bad shape. Not to self – sit up straight, stretch, take more breaks. Anyway, just wanted to share my story – my insurance ended up covereing all the costs and I was so glad to not be bothered by the problem again! Best of Luck,Paige from San Diego
