Wedding Shoes

It’s so difficult finding a pair of pretty white shoes that are comfortable and not too high of a heel. About a 2.5 inch heel would be perfect with my height and the length of my dress. It’s the heel height of the shoes I tried on in the store with my dress, but I didn’t really like the way they looked that much nor were they comfortable during just the time spent trying on dresses. It seems like all the shoes I see online look the same and are not what I like.

I’ve noticed the prettiest wedding shoes are the high heels and the majority of the lower heel or no heel shoes are hideous, which makes no sense to me. It’s not that they’re prettier because they’re taller. They make totally different designs for the low heels and the high heels. I don’t know why. I feel bad for the low heels and the people who want them. Designers could easily make low heeled versions of their high heels, and it would save them time because they wouldn’t have to think of some completely different ugly design for the smaller heels.

I never wear high heels anymore.

My mom said I could wear a heel during the ceremony and wear other shoes during the reception, but then that means my dress would be too long at the reception, which is not going to be fun or comfortable with my dress dragging around.

Cowboy boots would be the perfect height and be appropriate for the style and location of the event, but that might look a little crazy since I’m Asian. When I lived in both San Antonio and Waco it was perfectly acceptable to wear them all the time, but people have given me weird looks for wearing them in the city I live in now. Although, why should I care what people think? I can get new boots, and I already have my eye on a particular pair. Yeah, I’m gonna do it.

  1. I wore blue flats for my wedding. And I have seen a lot of people wear boots (although, I grew up in the country) or shoes that match their wedding colors!

  2. Who cares what other people think. You should rock those boots and that dress. You may even start a new fashion trend by taking the initiative 🙂

  3. i dont think it'll be weird. i'm for sure i'm going to wear my cowboy boots with my wedding dress….although i am in college station so people wear cowboy boots all day every day everywhere….
