I was wrong about summer.

I don’t know what I was thinking when I wrote that post about how I missed summer. It’s so hot. It’s too hot to do anything. Cady sweats the moment we step outside to even walk to the car from the front door. It’s too bright sometimes even with sunglasses on as if I’m not even wearing any. The mosquitos are ridiculous.

They literally wait at the front door or even the car door for you to open up, so they can sneak inside and eat you alive. My poor bebe has been suffering from their stings as well. On top of that, the city drives around and sprays poison twice a week at about ten o’clock at night all over town to try to alleviate the problem, but it does nothing but probably just spread toxins in the air for the people living in the area. The horrible little things are literally back the next day. Honestly, what do they do that they are a necessary part of the eco-system besides spread diseases like West Nile and Malaria?

I can’t wait until fall. November should be a good month. Yeah, there will still be mosquitos, but maybe not as much? At least the weather will be cooler, and we can start leaving the house again. My husband got drenched in sweat taking the recycling out at 7:53 in the evening. I can’t imagine what it’s like when he walks the dog.

Maybe we should go to the pool more. Maybe we could get one of those popsicle molds. Now that I’ve had my chance to complain, I should think of ways we can make it more fun. We might as well make the most of it. Besides, in a few months when it gets really cold and Cady is upset about being all bundled up, I’ll probably start missing summer again.
